Most Goose modules, be they contacts, customers, products or quotes, display data as lists and/or grids.
A list display usually features headings, one or more descriptive elements and an icon, and if there is a colour, this refers to a form of classification.
On the right side of the list there are many modules that feature a set of summary icons, which usually are the sum of elements (e.g. tot.orders, tot.quotes, tot.associated persons). The MEMO and NOTES icons are the only exception.
The grid, on the other hand, is a tabular display of the elements that has the added advantage of allowing the elements to be sorted inascending/descending order by clicking on the column heading.
Both modes feature a quick search mode which can be accessed from the top left box. The search sets a filter on the items of the module displayed at the time.
The list/grid action functions are found at the top right. These functions are available according to the data displayed at that time.
The main action functions are:
|
New Element
Allows you to enter a new element in the list. |
Export Allows you to Export the data displayed on screen. |
|
|
Show Favourites
This allows you to filter the list or grid by displaying only the elements already entered in favourites. |
|
Display Mode
This allows you to switch between list view and grid view or vice versa
|
|
Filters
This allows you to filter the list or grid based on the classification elements. |
The New Element function is only displayed if the module allows for data input but above all, based on user privileges.
The filter function and the search engine are fundamental elements todisplay, search and filter data based on classification of the modules.
The filter functions may vary according to the module and the data actually loaded on the system (e.g. if there are no data in the Areas table, the relevant filter will not even appear in the filters menu).
Filters may be removed by clicking the "Reset filters" button.
